Rune Factory is a series of fantasy adventure role-playing video games that feature elements of farming, dungeons, romance, crafting, and more. Since its debut in 2006, the Rune Factory series has introduced a total of six titles as of 2019, to be seven with the anticipated release of “Rune Factory 5” for the Nintendo Switch in 2021. Originally marketed as a spin-off of the Bokujou Monogatari series (known in the west as “Story of Seasons,” formerly known as “Harvest Moon” until 2013), Rune Factory 2 is the first installment of the series to be marketed independently from the Bokujou Monogatari name in Japan. and published by Marvelous and launched on the Nintendo DS in 2008.
